Setting Up Xbox Live!

Hey guys im having a bit of a problem trying to set my brothers 360 up for live! His internet is just the bog standard BT 2mb, but it runs through the phone line to the modem and into the pc via USB! So im using an ethernet cable from the 360 to the ethernet port on the back of the pc! Sounds like an easy set up, but during the connection test it fails straight away on the I.P Address?! Tried resetting the modem etc, but to no avail!

Any idea what i can try?
