Settings option missing on iPhone 4....

Yo, I'm missing the the Mobile Data Network settings tab in my Settings/Network menu. I don't know for how long this has been missing for because I've never had to use it. I just upgraded my plan on Virgin Mobile and suddenly mobile data stopped working. They changed the plan and it still didn't work so they gave me some instructions to enter into the phone but I realised there is no place I can enter them!

I've already tried a settings reset and that didn't work. Help me!

Not familiar with that setting. What are you trying to do/look at?

In Settings > Network I have the following options:

Enable 3G (on/off)
Cellular Data (on/off)
Cellular Data Network (Were I can change all the data settings for Cellular data, Voice mail and MMS)

I'm trying to add data into the Cellular Data Network tab but I don't have that option.

Different carriers have different options enabled in here. For example, I'm on Three and I have:

Cellular Data On/Off
Data Roaming On/Off
Personal Hotspot On/Off
VPN
Wi-Fi

Looking at Google, I may have jailbreak my phone to get this sorted. Anyone know if it's easy?

Yeah. Add in data like web address, port, APN etc.

Yep, depends on the sim. In my case anyway. UK O2 has the cellular data network settings page, as does my NZ 2degrees sim. On my personal OZ Telstra sim this page disappears as the APN etc is not changeable.

Well, you could jailbreak. But right now you're paying for a service that isn't working - you shouldn't have to jailbreak just to get mobile data to work.

Moan at Virgin until they fix it.

This. Iirc When I put my orange sim in it isn't there but when I put Vodafone in it is.

Surely virgin is your first port of call here? Ring them and get them to sort it.

I called Virgin, they said they don't support the iPhone so they don't have the instructions for it. They could only give me the data to enter in the phone. I told them I didn't have the "option" to enter the data, they didn't really care.

My choices are:

Jailbreak the phone.

Make Virgin Mobile perform a ubiquitous change to their whole contract sim service to accommodate my needs.

I'd feel better doing the latter, but I sense the former will be easier.
