Hello,

After my old RAM had a short life expectancy due to using the advertised settings I was wondering if you guys could give me some help with the current settings for my new GeIL PC2-6400 800MHz please?

I've installed the sticks and doing a MemTest to make sure everything's ok. I am using the optimised defaults for the first run.

The stick's label says 5-5-5-15 with 1.8v.

My motherboard has set the timings to 5-5-5-18 and seen as the normal memory voltage is 1.8 I think I'll only need to change the tRAS to 15.

Does that sound about right? I'll run the MemTest again when I make the simple change.

yep at 800mhz they should do 15-5-5-5 at 1.8 /1.9V

try first at 1.8V, if any instability occurs,raise it at 1.9,no problems

and at 15-5-5-5 I think they could reach a little more mhz,you could try between 450/500mhz,since you do not past the maximum recomended voltage wich is 2.0V ,just to stay in the safe side
