Settle an argument for me plz

I've had a couple of birds from around that area, and I've more than once tried (and failed) to get girls to understand how camber affects the drive of a car.

Your chat-up technique sounds awesome - do you train others? :D

actually, you can set the car up to pull to the left with PERFECT geometry...

And many manufacturers do this...

My wifes car, brand new Astra was setup like this... but how...

and how did I know...

I will give you a clue... it has to do with the coloured stripes around the tyres on the front wheels...

:D

Ah no idea huh?

They are the runout bands, and the tyre fitters should pick tyres for your car that have the runout bands in the same place on the front.. ie both on the outside of the tyre, or both on the inside...

if they are both on the left the car will pull to the left, if they are on the right the car will pull to the right...

Runout bands are positioned in accordance to the way the tyre laminates are laid up...

so there you go...

Not dodgy geometry, not a conspiracy of manufacturers, just lazy tyre fitters that bias the tyres to the left

:D

When I floor the other halfs 206cc it goes left quite badly, but that's not a safety thing.

no its called torque steer...

Didn't know they had enough power for that

;)

maybe shes been in my old 306 D Turbo, at times it felt like I needed to apply full opposite lock to keep going in a straight line when braking

They don't have enough power for torque steer, it's just the the body is made from crisp packets and deforms under force of the 1.1 engine and causes the steering to deflect :D
