Settlers 2 - 10th anniversary issues

Hey,

When I load the game, a small window opens in the top left of the screen, then you see the animation of it opening but nothing happens.

Running on a netbook and windows 7 32 bit.

Any ideas on what I can try?

try running it in another compatibility? nocd crack? there normaly the two things that fix problems like that for me.

Tried both, neither work

might just have to try and find a new version.

I know it's no help but it runs ok on Windows 7 here, 64 bit. Might be the netbook?
