Settlers 2: Next Generation

According to Blues News:

A new German Die Siedler II Website heralds the coming of The Settlers II: Next Generation, an upcoming remake of Blue Byte's management sequel that will include up-to-date 3D graphics and other modernized spiffiness. The announcement is in German, so stick this Babel Fish in your ear if you're interested in a rough English translation (and this one is rougher than most). This Ubisoft Downloads Page offers a movie trailer from the game, and the gallery has some screenshots, which are collected along with some additional shots on 3D Gamers. No release date is offered at this time.

Settlers 2 was by far the best in the series - a unique game rather than a generic RTS like the more recent versions have been - so hopefully it will be good!

I think they'll need to develop the game a bit though, I hope it ends up being a wee big more than just The Settlers 2 with pretty graphics.

I prefered Settlers 3, still play it now with my dad on the LAN when I am round at his. Hope this is better than the latest offering of Settlers 4.
