Settlers 2?

IS this compatible with XP?

I have the original Settlers 2 that came out back when ever, just found it...

Although when I try to run the settler2.exe it quickly pops up asking for the disc in the CD-Rom - I'm presuming I need some old dos cdrom driver?

A new Settlers 2 was released this month. An anniversary edition with new revamped graphics, but I think its about £29.99..

I liked the original... I have downloaded the demo and I am going to give it a go .

Yes I know its out now for 30 quid but I have the disc sat in front of me now!

I ain't gonna pay for it again just so it works out the box

DosBox? would that help? I am sure that does emulation of some kind.

I used toplay that game loads, loved the split screen mode with 2 mice

Now that is a helpful post! Cheers mate.

Patched it up to 1.5whatever and ran it from S2.exe instead of settler2.exe and works a treat!

God this takes me back!

How big is the game? Size (mb) wise.

The CD comes in at 307Mb, the install comes in at 31.1Mb and the patch was 1.5Mb roughly

I had the original on floppy at one time.

Downloaded it the other day, but I needed to get S2 working as the graphics were just too bad for me to stand in the Original Settlers. :eek:

Having said that I can still lose whole days to Colonization
