Setup cannot access this disk..

I'm tryng to use a Maxtor 80Gb hard drive in a new machie. However when I load Windows XP Professional's setup from CD/Boot and get into the part where you select your hard drive and format it. It shows me the 80Gb's..but I just can't do anything with this hard drive. Won't even show up in Disk Managment in Windows XP Professional..

Any idea how I can get this drive working guys?
