Interested in getting back to a desktop. but I haven't a clue what to look for as i've been away from it for a while.

posted a spec me thread couple months ago but wan't to see if there's any other suggestions.

would use pc for some gaming ofcourse, Haven't played a pc game since Battlefield 2/3 but I like the look of BF4 and like the look of games such as DayZ.

I really would like 2 monitors as I'm also into online poker. and the laptop for multi-tabling isn't cutting it anymore :( . Or even a monitor of 23"+

I need everything apart from a case :) have a 700w PSU lying about but I bought it in 2008 , so not sure if connections have changed since then.

I also plan on taking my 750GB harddrive out of the laptop and using it , however would like a wee SSD also

Thanks for the help

RJC's spec is still about the best you can do for the budget, AMD 6300 + 270X. Take RJC's advice and replace that PSU.

Since you need pretty much the whole works there's no way you'll get two monitors within £650 without seriously cutting from the PC.

If the case doesn't support 120mm fan minimum and decent cable management you might aswell replace that too, the HDD would be better being a 3.5in rather than 2.5in for speed sake.

i5 4xxx or FX 8xxx paired with a R9 280/x is what you are looking at with that price I would imagine.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Sapphire Radeon R9 270 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (11220-00-20G) £113.99
2 x AOC E2470SWDA 23.6" Widescreen LED Monitor - Black £104.99 (£209.98)
1 x Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1) £82.99
1 x Gigabyte Z97-HD3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £79.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan ORANGE 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLAD38G2133HC11ADC01) £65.99
1 x Intel Pentium K Anniversary G3258 Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £52.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 450W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £44.99
Total : £650.92 (includes shipping : ).

Twin monitors, albeit budget screens but good nonetheless. Spec'd in a very overclockable K series CPU, but again a compromise has to be made due to the budget so it's a dual core only. That said it performs surprisingly well in games
