Iv got myself a big problem, Old 32" pani CRT, DVD/5.1 theatre homepackage kit, VHS player, Sky

Iv got it all set up, 2 scarts on the back of the Tv, audio out on the Tv going via 2 seperate cables to the TV audio input on the 5.1 kit. Its lovely, however, when i change threw the Scart inputs (dont know what button this is called) theres 2 input channels which howl out this terrible noise and a black screen, Svhs2 and another scart input thats towards the side of the Tv. How do i stop it making this horrible noise? its like a loud fog horn.

Sounds like feedback, where a signal is passed back and forth, getting louder each time. Presumably you don't get this noise through the TV speakers (with the amp turned off?

The sound is probably a slight mains hum, which is going from the TV to the amp, then getting fed back to the TV through a scart cable, then back to the amp again.
You'll need to check all the settings on the amp, try different cables, etc.

If you can't fix the problem, you'll need to avoid switching to those inputs (I assume they are unused, but you have to step through them to get to Sky, DVD and the video).

If you connect sky, DVD and your video using fully-wired scart cables, and enable scart control, your TV will switch to whichever source you next turn on. If you don't have enough scart sockets on the TV, get an automatic scart switch box.
