SF4 on PS3 - any server difference with different disc?

I just got a PS3 and am gonna pick up SF4. I know that the PS3 is region-free for games, and wondered if there is any difference in which disc version I get.

I can pickup an asia/hong kong disc fairly cheap, but I heard that this one connects to asian servers for online play.

I'd rather play on UK/european servers due to lag, so should I get a UK/PAL version of SF4 instead?

Or does the disc version not matter anyway? Is there any way to specify which server you will be joining for online play?

Thanks.

I'm fairly sure that the disk doesn't matter at all, it all depends what PSN account you're logged into (EU, Jap or American). Just be warned, if you own a foreign disk EU DLC won't work with it, you'll need to download it from its relevant region.

How cheap can you get it abroad? It's less than £30 here which isn't exactly expensive.

I can get hold of SF4 asia/japan version for around £25 new. Not much saving I guess but I can't seem to find it much cheaper online in the UK though...

Bet those pings were lovely

Actually had no issues at all, played around 10 games with the same yank and didn't have any noticeable input lag.

What's the point? Might as well just get it for £29 delivered in the UK or find it second hand, no risk of import costs and I'd be surprised if that was £25 including delivery. :|
