Hi everyone.

I have a PC here that is failing the SFC scan on two files:

C:\Windows\System32\wdi\perftrack"\[l:26{13}]"ieframe.ptxml" from store

C:\Windows\System32\wdi\perftrack"\[l:80{40}]"Microsoft-Windows-IE-HTMLRendering.ptxml" from store

On checking the folder the files are missing? Is it safe to assume all is well if they are missing?

I have tried to replace the files and used the "System Update Readiness Tool" KB947821 but the scan always displays the same result.

The OS is Windows 7 64 bit.

Thank you.

I reinstalled the OS and all if fine now.

The system was randomly shutting down for almost two years (Due to overheating) so it was a good move as corruption would be apparent.

Thanks for reading.

Yup thats what i assume going through the logs and speaking to them. (They just put up with it for all that time)

The amount of dust i had to clean out of the heat sink & PC was worrying. I took a pic as i do all PC's before i get my hands on. It was not your normal dust it was sticky.

I tried Prime for 10 seconds it hit 78 c i had to close it and idle was 58-7 c

The heat issue was my first port of call and all was well with the random freezes im my hands after cleaning apart from fixing these two files which i could not fix no matter what i tried.

But i could not leave a system with system files that would fail the integrity scan even though i replaced them and it still failed.

Anyway apart from a fresh install and some loving care its all up and running tests.

I just could not leave dodgy system files associated to Internet Explorer that were failing.

Oh also this was a pre overclocked system that was supplied with a stock cooler!

Amazing the effect that a bit of dust can have. I cleaned a load out of my heatsink the other day because my CPU was hitting 80c at load. Now it reaches 65c maximum.
