Hi,

ignore my previous ramblings of 939 matx and tell me everything there is to know with regard to c2d's :)

Done a fair bit of reading and torn between the sugo 01 or 03 - really can't decide on this one.

Also gfx card vs. hdd storage....

01 = 8800 gts + 3 hdd's if i'm reading this correctly....if you want the GTX then you need to lose 2 hdd's?

03 = both gts & gtx fit with minimal clearance?

PSU's: The Silverstone 500W psu any good? claims of 54A on it's single 12V rail sounds impressive.....can it deliver?

Will modular PSU's fit in here and is it worth it over the shortr cables?

any insomniacs that want to chip in with helpful hints please do :D

Ta

(PS: Lookingto order before 12 for some of these parts to ensure thursday deliver and enough time to build/install wiondows before a crazy road trip on Friday....)

Bit late seeing as you posted at 12:33 :)

Go for a G33 motherboard, they are the equivalent of a P35 full size board in mATX format. Probably the Asus as it has a good memory ratio range.

CPU? Depends on budget, but I don't really see the point getting anything other than a Q6600 personally.

Sugo 01 or 03? 03 I think if it was me and I had to have a Sugo, neither lend themselves to great cooling options, although you *can* fit a 240mm radiator in a SG03 if you have to, personally I'd look at a Silverstone TJ08, its not restricted in having to use a CPU cooler that uses the PSU fan like the SG* range does. Yes its not as pretty but if i was doing a new built tommorow thats the one I would look at.

Gfx, there is no choice really, if you can find one a 8800GT (not GTS or GTX) is the best bang for the buck card out there, near GTX speeds for less than GTS money.

I agree with what Biffa said - although if you don't mind waiting then you may find that Penryn with it's 45nm process will be cooler and overclock better than the current 65nm chips (although the G0 Q6600 already runs very cool).

I personally love the design of the Sugo cases though - SG01 Evo if you want a "desktop" case and SG03 if you want a "tower". IMO the SG03 has better cooling.

for 12 I meant wed lunch :p

ta for the info thus far :)

Anything on the PSU's?

Also not desperate about OC'ing (yet :p) & will be using my old 7800GT
atm to keep cost down

I simply cannot be bothered lugging my v1000 to LAN's & would like something small ish but light....
