I have a thread in the general hardware section about this, being new to the forum and not seeing this one
Anyway, Im building a SFF PC for my Dad for christmas. Basically, I dont know whether to go for a Shuttle, and work from there, or the Sugo Evolution, and start at the bottom. So far, the Sugo is slightly cheaper, and is in the lead, mainly because I'm not tied to the Shuttles PSU or motherboard.
Which would you guys recommend?
Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB)
Shuttle XPC SD37P2 Aluminium Barebones System - Intel Pentium D (LGA775)
7900GS or X1950Pro (Silent variety)
Samsung SpinPoint P SP2504C 250GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM
Samsung SH-W183 18x18 DVD±RW Serial ATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black)
1Gb (2X512Mb) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC6400 (800)
OR
SilverStone 'SUGO' Evolution SG01B Black Aluminium Small Form Factor Case
ASUS P5B-VM iG965
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 OEM 775, 1.86 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, Allendale Core, 2MB Cache, OEM
250 Gb Western Digital WD2500KS Caviar SE16
Samsung SH-S183A/BEBN Black SATA 18x18 ±R Dual Layer DVDRW Writer OEM
7900GS or X1950Pro (Silent variety)
Zalman CNPS8000 Ultra Quiet Low Profile CPU Cooler
500W Enermax Liberty Modular Series - ELT500AWT
I'd really like it to be as quiet as possible, and there is a slight possibilty that I'd OC the CPU a couple of hundred mhz if I could, without increasing the heat too much.
Like I said, they both work out at around £700, but its neither here nor there. The main question is, do I Sugo, or do I fly off with the Shuttle?
skell
