My Dad's a photographer, looking to move away from a laptop to a SFF.
He goes to events, takes photo's & sells them / prints them on the spot so he needs a pc which can keep up & also doesn't take up a lot of room.

My spec is:
Untitled-1.jpg

What do you feel could be better?
He has HDD, keyboard, mouse, monitor etc & will be using Vista 64.

Price can't go over £300, it needs to be as cheap as possible.

have a google for "lamptron machine billet case handles" few holes and they look really good quality. There quite expensive but there carrying around £300+ and all the work saved on there while matchine the case in black or silver so I think it's a worthwhile investment.

wouldn't it be easier to buy a shuttle bag, couple of pockets in them as well for usb pen drives etc, don't have to put holes in the case then
also while walking about or in the car the metal won't get scratched

I wouldn't have faith in some attached handles to the removeable shell.

If you don't mind the look, something like a Geargrip Micro LT harness would be useful. Look at their site to see one fitted to a G chassis Shuttle (not linking as probably considered a comeptitor, even though an American site).

In the clearance section there are a few ThermalTake Lanboxs that have a built in handle. Add to that a cheap AMD system that you can swap for C2D if you prefer and you get..

Thermaltake VF1000BWS Lanbox - Black (No PSU) £59.99 (£68.99)
Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2H AMD 740G (AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £47.99 (£55.19)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5200 2.70GHz (Socket AM2) - Retail £45.99 (£52.89)
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2 (OCZ2G8004GK) £32.99 (£37.94)
Samsung SH-S223F/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM £12.99 (£14.94)
Akasa Ultra Quiet 400W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.2 PSU - Black Nickel £34.99 (£40.24)

Total + shipping + vat = £281.67

PK!

just wondering, if he's a photographer would he not want to edit pictures and possibly play with something like photoshop? Which might make it a good idea to put a dedicated GFX card in there?
