I have my old 1700x build, with RX580 card that I am looking to repurpose as a media centre to replace my aging and not annoying Mac mini in the lounge. Question is; it's all currently in a NZXT H710 but looking to get a new board and put it into a nice SFF case.
Obviously not as small as the mac mini and that's fine but as nice and fitted as I can get.

It's been a while since I looked, what options/ brands are out there I should look at?

EDIT: I suppose I don't want a micro ATX, rather a ITX?

I think you need to decide how small you want to go. NZXT H210, Lian Li TU150 is quite big for ITX.

Streamcom is smaller, but still a bit big in terms of size. Theres a size comparison site here you can use, punch in some cases (or search for them) to decide what kind of size you want: https://comparesizes.com/comparison...s-Lian-Li-TU150-size-comparison/1592771826490

Around the 10L mark is small :).
  1. What is your budget?
  2. What cooler are you using for your CPU?
  3. Do you have a SFX PSU?
Some names to research:

- Meshilicous - great price, ATX PSU support, great cooling and good size, this is sold at OCUK. This is a vertical orientation.
- Dan Case A4 - smallest you can go really! Looks brilliant too
- NCASE M1 - think Meshilicous performance wise but in a different layout, I have one and I love mine. Is somewhat expensive
- Acat X1 - Ghost S1 clone, looks great and is small. You will have to import from China but I've done this with cases and it's very easy to do, while being quite quick
- Geeek M5 - just been announced but looks brillaint
- NR200 - probably the value king here, but again, it's "big" ish when you come to ITX sizes

Easiest options would be the NR200 or Meshlicious. Both reasonably priced, good cooling, compatible with a broad selection of parts. There are alternatives which are more premium (Streacom DA2, Ncase M1) or more compact (and thus more limited on parts; FormD T1, Dancase A4), but these two are the best all-rounders and also the best performers in the pack.

If you you want something with more of a HTPC/console look then there's the Fractal Design Node 202 and Silverstone Raven RVZ03. Neither are that great for cooling, but they're inexpensive and probably sufficient for a 1700x and RX580 (and the better alternatives in this form factor are all £150+).
