Hi guys. I'm looking for a recommendation for a small form factor power supply. It looks like the Corsair SF series is popular, but are there any others worth considering? Reliability is paramount of course, but quite operation/low fan noise are also very important to me. It will be going into a mini ITX gaming build, with an overclocked CPU and top end GPU (both CPU and GPU have yet to be decided upon). Any thought? Thanks!

The pair of Corsair's are the best and to be honest I wouldn't look at anything else. They ate top quality, fully modular and have all of their respective 450w and 600w available on the 12v rail and have a 7 year warranty. Review of the 450w here and the 600w here. They are more expensive than the others but you are getting the best for that money.

The BeQuiet SFX Power 2 units are poor and only have 2 years warranty and their SFX-L units are expensive yet only have a pathetic 3 year warranty which is a joke for the price they are asking.

The Silverstone ST range can be very noisy and although the SX series is quieter due to being a bigger size and having a larger fan, all units only have a pathetic 3 year warranty, even the top end Titanium rated 800w unit at a whopping £175 which is just disgraceful.

Terrible isn't it? I never thought I would ever see a Titanium rated psu or even a psu at that price with just a 3 year warranty these days. All I can think of is that they can't have a lot of faith in their products so if they don't then why should anybody buy them?
