Hi all,

One thing I feel that is holding me back from my new build is looking for a case without an built in PSU.

The spec of my build will be i5 cpu, 5850 gfx card, 1 ssd, 1 hdd, corsair h50 cooler.

I currently have the above with an optical drive using a 650w psu however does the sff motherboard offer an efficiences so that I can use case with a built in 300w psu? Or are these cases really for very simple itx builds?

if you are asking if the motherboard saves much power...nup
the gfx card will be using the most
ive seen some gold rated 300w psu's that could handle it but they were atx, i think most 300w that come in cases would struggle badly, get hot/loud/fail

a lot of itx cases that take gfx cards use full sized psu's for this reason i guess
and uhh you going to need one with a 120mm fan to keep that cooler so i guess u looking at bitfenix :P

My current HTPC build uses a "SFF" psu or "SFX" psu, It is the BeQuiet 300W silver rated 80 plus.

Fantastic PSU, is powering a Athlon II X3, 5850 1gb low profile, 1 3.5" drive, 4 2.5" drives.

Silent and does the job. what more can you want :)

and to Gav 811's post, The case is nice but really for £125, you can get yourself a case a PSU and save yourself a couple of quid.

On a serious note can you suggest an alternative of about the same size that i can fit a dedicated GPU 7850 is the current one.
Was planning on getting this when it comes back into stock but if theres a better option i'm always up for saving a few quid:)
