I'm seriously tempted to build a SFF as my next PC, I want to start off with decent main components: Mobo, case, CPU and then add to it later on as money becomes available.

Anyone able to help, I'm a little "iffy" about picking the case as there seems to be a hell of a lot of choice around and it being a SFF it seems to be probably the most important component!

Anyone able to help? 400-500, possibly a tad more for the basics. Any help greatly appreciated Gents!

What do you want to do with it?

Antec Aria
6150 based 939 motherboard
Athlon 64 3000 or more
1gb of DDR ram
other stuff you want (hdd and optical)
that would be about £300 with the integrated graphics... then just add a discrete card of your choice - which brings us into your budget.

The Aria is seriously compromised by only having 1 5.25" slots and no 3.5" external slots. The windowless Aspire X-QPack is a much better bet in my opinion. Otherwise, no issues with the choices.

It'll be a games PC, I keep thinking of upgrading my current normal sized PC but to be honest it'd more or less mean buying everything so might as well go SFF whilst I have *** chance.

I've decided to save up for it so I'll probably be able to throw some more money at it in a month or so.

WJA96 - the Qpacks look nice but are they still reasonably small?

It's almost exactly the same size as the Aria. If you're saving up, get a Silverstone Sugo instead.
