Hello

I currently have a Zotac Z-Box running windows 7 which runs XBMC and Homeseer (home automation software)

I wish to move this box onto Ubuntu + XBMC and seperate out the Homeseer installation to another box

Homeseer has to run on windows, so I am looking into options for a SFF windows box (XP is fine). Fan less would be great and as small as possible. I am happy to run the OS off a SD card or SSD etc. It just has to run Windows XP/7 a web server and a few USB devices

The altnerative to this would be to buy a new media computer to replace my current one so I move XBMC rather than Homeseer. I currently have ION2 setup which doesnt quite handle XBMC with all the bells and whistels turned on so something quicker than ION2, AMD Llano or something? Fanless would be awesome

Thoughts?

Because ocuk don't make 50,000 units a year to shift and so economies of scale mean they are dearer?

The Sapphire edge is smaller, bigger hard drive etc and is the better choice. I have an E350 build almost identical to ocuk's nano and mine cost about the same to build give or take.

Clearly the sapphire is the much better choice money wise, but then they are not in stock either...

Yes one could. I dont know much about the Sapphire one, you would have to research it a bit. But the Antec case is really good, great airflow and takes any mitx board etc

Edit: If I were building a HTPC now though I would go for a Llano mitx build with the A6 I think it is, the 65w tricore one.

Playback was fine, just navugating the menus with aeon skin with all bells and whistles wasn't amazing

If you are looking for an ion2 setup let me know and ill put one in the members market as I still have mine
