I recently bought and downloaded Street Fighter 2 from the xbox live marketplace. Jesus H Christ it is one of the most stupidly broken games I've ever come across. I used to have the Mega Drive game, and I sure as hell don't remember the broken difficulty and frustrating AI that constantly repeats the same moves over and over, or totally ignoring the easiest difficulty mode setting and go full nukage on you with excess fire. The controller is terrible as well, with the D-pad nowhere near adequete enough for the moves you have to pull off - for example, playing as Ryu, you will never be able to pull off a dragon uppercut properly several times in a row, half the time it'll do a hadoken fireball.

I've just spent 45 minutes trying to beat M. Bison on the easiest difficulty (all stars dulled out) and it is NOT happening. At one point with the fight against Balrog, he even got me into a corner and for a whole minute, constantly spammed light punch - I couldnt even move, and the fight ended in a time out with me winning. I don't even want to imagine what the fights are like when you crank up the difficulty even 1 smidgeon.

It doesnt help that -nobody- plays it online either.

Stupid game, I wish I hadnt wasted my damn money on this rubbish.

Was wondering whether to bother with this or not, mainly for the online element, but is there seriously nobody playing it?

The net code is reportedly so awful, I think it has been almost abandoned completely.

(The last I heard, may not be quite true anymore)

The net code isn't the greatest, but the single player is absolutely 100% identical to the arcade.

The amount of people i've hard whining about it not being like the Snes or Mega drive versions is astounding. Those were arcade "conversions". This is that actual arcade code, ran through an emulator.

What is on Arcade is the arcade version. However, there is a fair argument over which is the best. Personal taste really. I did hear that there was a patch released for it a while back. Am I imagining this, but I thought it was meant to help the net code?

you must have artharitis or something cuz its really easy for me to pull of the moves in streetfighter. then again the moves are far easy compared to the controls in the king of fighters games, if you can pull of move in that then your a gangster.

play marvel vs capcom 2, far more action in it. :D

i thought SF2 on live was great. The first fortnight after it came out it was all I played. People whinging about the single player difficulty obviously didn't play it in the arcade back in the day. And you soon get used to the controller.

Dont bother with it anymore though simply because i'm too busy with other games.

There is seriously literally nobody playing it online. All the listings and matchmakings show blank 'no games found'.
