SFIV online... some sort of automatic handicap?

haven't played SFIV online hardly at all, but I gave it a blast over the weekend...

one thing I noticed (and I only played about 5 games as Akuma) was that it seemed to have stuck me on a handicap? i was fighting ryu in one match and his attacks were doing a fair bit more damage than mine

is there some sort of auto handicap maybe cuz i use Akuma or something that? (not that that should make a difference)

ahh cool great link very interesting

still think i'm going to stick with akuma for a while i just find him great to use and find the ultra combo really accessible on a pad... plus he looks like a right badass

don't know as anyone else finds this but i think on a control pad some stuff such as ryu's ultra is just really tricky if you're on the right of the screen? also charge moves seems quite tricky on a pad? with akuma i seem to be able to pull everything off without any hassle so maybe thats why i like him.
