SFTP - Transfer server to server?

I have tried scp through shell, however one of the servers is not configured for remote to remote and I cannot change such settings on that server.

Can you set an FTP client to download, then upload to remote server, clear the file from the local computer then proceed to the next file?

If that make sense?

Are the servers on the same LAN network or remote?

You can yes regardless.

What kind of files are they is it just data or config files of some sort?

Servers are remote.

Files are data files.

6.5TB, which is why I would prefer to "transfer", instead of having to download then ship out again.

Well you would need a port open but you going to need a heavy line for 6.5TB transfer. You just open a port and install the server version on one server.

I don't get it - if you can access the second server via SFTP from your desktop computer, why can't you access it via SFTP directly from the first server?

Can you SSH into the machines? Would you be able to use rsync?
