Can anyone recommend (do they even exist ?) an SFX PSU with RGB from a reputable make ?. Mid range power would be fine ... asking for a friend

I don't know of any that are for sale right now. RGB & SFX separately I think are a fairly small part of the PSU market, though if there is enough call to make such a PSU Corsair would be first in line.

Don't think so.
You might be able to rig one together by replacing the fan, PSU's just have normal PC fans attached under the hood. Wouldn't recommend it though.
Otherwise, you could just put some RGB strips behind it.
