Hi all,

recently picked up an old AMD64 3200+ based machine cheap as chips, it's got ati onboard gpu, we have it in the loft and our 14 yr old likes to game on it now and then. he's fine with older stuff like Jedi Outcast but recently started playing KOTOR and it's really struggling even a low quality / low res

it's only hooked up to a 15" tft so res is limited at 1024 x 768. we might in the near future shop around for an old 17 / 19"

given the limitations of the cpu and we won't be upgrading it what are the best options for a gpu ? I was thinking a pre owned 7600 GT or even at a push a 1950 Pro. It is a spare / office system and as such I don't want to throw money at it, we don't expect him to be playing dead space on it.

any advice much appreciated

Should also be ok with that psu.I used to run a oc 6800 and a hot pentium 4 using a FSP psu think it was a 250w and upgraded to a 350w.
