Shadow of Mordor - please help

Hi folks,

I was getting into this game and got to the bit with gollum and some cut scenes but I quit out of the game for the night and now I can't pick up again - I was following his foot prints to a cave and the last thing I recall was him saying something about retreiving the 'Bright Ones' belongings?!?
My question is - where on the map should I go to continue?

I believe that if you go into wraith vision it should either show a trail of some sorts - Or check the main map for story objectives again

Yes that worked until I switched off and then I couldn't find them again - but then I found an icon on the map and found where I needed to be - Doh!
