Shadow of War doesn't run smoothly on my PC

So my computer rig is pretty good imo, however this is the recommended settings for SoW
(OS: Windows 10 version 14393.102 or higher required
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.4 GHz
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: GeForce GTX 970 or GeForce GTX 1060 | Radeon R9 290X or Radeon RX 480
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 60 GB available space)

My specs
(Processor) Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700k CPU @ 4.00GHz 4.00 GHz
(RAM) 16gb
(Graphics card) Niveda geforce gtx 1080
DirectX: Version 12

Why is it that the recommended settings for me on the game is LOW and then when i play on low its still terrible, my computer should easily play this on high with the beautiful graphics, instead ive got 2003 laggy graphics which i cant even play. Any advice? I've checked all my drivers and their updated, i was so looking forward to playing this but its just not working

I don't own the game but it should be in the game graphics settings, some games give the option whether to use DX12 or not.

Lots of reports of the Nvidia drivers released especially for today were not very good.

I'm sure they'll issue a hotfix.

Mind at least you can play it. I haven't been unable to load it at all.

set dynamic resolution to whatever fps you desire.

I have all settings maxed on a gtx 1080 (sli is rubbish on this game so have switched it off) and it never goes below 60fps

Rest of the specs are

ryzen 1600 @ 3.9ghz
16gb 3200 ram

I've got a 2600k and a GTX 970 and the game runs very well for me.

Most settings on High and a few on Medium.

Not sure how I feel on the dynamic resolution. Surely during 'slow downs' the game ends up looking like cack?

Very similar specs to mine and plays like a dream for me, pegged at 60FPS with everything on Ultra at 2560x1080. I haven't updated drivers yet and not sure I will TBH.

Have you done a driver clean and reinstall, my friend has a similar rig to yours and isn't having any issues playing it maxed out.

Running fine for me on 1080ti sli.

Even if there is an issue, it shouldn't default to low so I guess there's something it can detect that's a huge bottleneck on your system

I don't suppose you are running in a PCI Express 1.0 or something?

I have a similar PC and mine defaults to ultra and runs at 50fps average at 4k resolution with dynamic Res off.

Just to let you all know i fixed it, just disabled the intel graphics card through device manager
