Hey

Was browsing around some random website and came across an MMPORPG [or whatever the hell you call it]. Since it was free I gave it a go and I must say I am rather surprised at how good it is given it totally free to play.

I have no idea how it compares to other online RPGs [I refuse to pay for the privilege of playing my own games] but it's not bad. There are one or two annoying things about it, but it is still in BETA so that's to be expected.

The learning curve is fairly shallow so you should have a good grasp of the game within a short amount of time. The interface is quite intuitive and somewhat customizable [you can move the different HUD items around etc].

Graphically it is quite well polished. I haven't seen it on max [it is on my 4 year old laptop at the moment] but judging by my current settings it should be decent by anyone's standards. The fact that it plays smoothly on my laptop also goes to show it is quite well coded.

Anyway, enough of banging on about it, more info etc here: http://shaiya.aeriagames.com/

hmm, problem with these so called free MMo's are they don't have the support or community that most P2P ones offer, I'd much rather pay £6 a month knowing that i have decent server based support and a better user base.

these 'free' MMo's are usually full of hackers and bots as it doesn't matter if you get caught and banned you can just re-apply and start again ,, I've never had any problems paying to play proper MMo's like SWG (i'd happily sell my child to play pre CU NGE again and sub for life) or Lotro, but if it floats your boat good luck!

Well, so far there is already a very good user base. Plenty of people to talk to and team up with. Support is also very good if the forum is anything to go by.

I am not saying it is likely to be as polished as a pay to play MMO, but I think I could put up with a few quirks for something that is completely free.
