I posted up earlier but had no responce, really need sum help if any1 could spare it.

My build will be i7 do, 6GB GT dom's 1866MHz, 5870. I'm new to overclocking and want to give it ago. I intend to OC the CPU to 4GHz and clock the RAM. I also want to add a water loop in a few weeks time....

So is it worth me getting the :

Gigabyte

or payign the extra £100 to get

Please note if i go for the gigabyte then it means i can use the spare cash to get a SSD

Gigabyte every time it will be just as good at overclocking as the ASUS and it's not worth the extra if you ask me plus their RMA service is in dire straits which is a shame :(, but deffo the Gigabyte.

Built a couple of i7 machines and 1600mhz seems perfecly matched to air cooled overclocking. IMO any faster is a waste...

As above, don't buy that ram. Anything better than 1600 c8 is money wasted. Actually anything better than 1333 c9 is probably a waste. Anand concluded that 1333 cas6 was about as good as it gets for x58. I'm running 1600 c8 ram at 1200 c6.

The gigabyte UD5 would be my choice, comes halfway between the two you've linked in price.
