Share a scanner with 2 computers

Hello,

I have a 2 computers, and 1 scanner... I'd like to be able to share my scanner with the 2 computers so either can use it. Is there a hardware solution out there to switch the device between the two computers... I want to move away from having 2 cables behind the scanner.

I've got a D-Link KVM to share my screen/keyboard/mouse with,

It's got a USB port on it to allow you to share extra devices.

Product code is SKVM-2KU, but i didn't get it from OcUK.

Click of a button and it switches over.

You could network the computers and share the scanner. Not sure how you would set it up so that you can use it without the machine its connected to being on though.
