Hi, I just bought a 'Cooler King' (combined fan cooling system and multi video out port dooicky) for my 360 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...199485-1032715) and now I wanna play games in hi-def on my PC monitor. This of course means moving my 360 away from the router in the living room and upstairs to my bedroom where I connect to the internet wirelessly.

What I want to know, therefore, is how to connect my 360 to my PC with a short ethernet cable and then get internet through my PC, which is getting it wirelessly from the router. Doable? Please advise!

p.s. I realise this isn't a video game forum, but my question really only has to do with sharing a wired internet connection from a wireless PC.

In network connections, simply select both your wireless + wired connection and right click selecting 'bridge connections' ... easy as that. Or it should be ;)

Haha, I know that feeling; a quiet child-like optimism that maybe, just maybe, your computer will do what you want :)

In other words, no. I tried to do a network bridge yesterday but whenever I bridge the connections, or click 'share internet connection' in the wired card's properties, I lose my wireless connection. It's almost like Windows thinks that a wired connection should be used over a wireless one (which is probably right) but if I switch my wired on, even if there's no connection, it still over-rides my wireless. Because hey, a wired connection without internet is still better than a wireless with internet, right?! (duh Microsoft...)

Thanks for the suggestion though. Anyone else got any input? If only there was a way of making my wireless connection the 'default' or similar...

Control Panel -> Network Connections -> Advanced -> Advanced Settings.
The top box will let you set interfaces in order of preference.

This is XP Pro too...

It's exactly as I said. Go to Control Panel, then Network Connections, and there's an Advanced menu at the top.

My mistake - you are 100% correct! :) Thanks for that. So I've got my wireless connection at the top of the list, then the wired, then the bridge, yet I still lose wireless internet when I bridge the two connections. Any ideas?

When bridged, i click on 'view wireless networks' and it shows my network, with full signal, but comes up as 'not connected'. We use MAC filtering on our home router to secure our network, but it couldn't be anything to do with that, could it? Yes, maybe, if it all worked but it wasn't passing the information from my network card to my xbox, then I'd know I had to add the MAC address of the net card or the bridge to the allow list (my xbox's MAC is already allowed). But this isn't even receiving internet when the bridge is activated... Any other ideas?

(thanks for your help so far, dudes!)

What happens when you "lose wireless internet" - is the bridge getting an IP?
What happens when you try to connect to the wireless network?

You might have hassle with MAC addresses, since the bridge doesn't have the MAC of either of the two interfaces.
