Shared folder monitoring

Hi folks,

looking for some software that will monitor changes on a shared folder on a system. Basically there is some folders being moved and we suspect it is a certain user but need to log it somehow. Found a few freeware directory monitors but none of them logs the user who has made the changes :/

i don't know about the ability to "log" the activity on the use of the folder / files in question

however in the meantime couldn't you setup read / write only permissions on the files to certain users, that way they can still be accessed and modified etc but they arent gonna go walkabout.

other than that you might want to consider some "activity monitor" software (you might need to look into this further as its kind of a grey area regarding peoples rights, data protection etc)

i've used (funnily enough) activity monitor in the past, you can install it remotely, view the users desktop / activity etc, and take screenshots at intervals etc...
