i am in need of a new laptop that needs to use graphics design programs. but i have an epos system that only runs on 32bit operating systems.

im looking at a laptop with 4gb RAM

what i need to know is if i down grade the OS to 32bit i would then get 2.89gb of usable RAM would the remainder of the RAM be used for graphics if the GPU uses shared RAM

i would keep the 64bit OS to fully use the 4GB of ram, the 32bit program can take a max of 3.6GB (i think) and the rest for gpu stuff :)

64bit however usefull it is is not an option due to the epos system we use doesnt support 64 :/

unless i am suffering from a post-lunch lul, you can still install 32bit programs on a 64bit operating system right? it is the other way around that doesnt work
