Sharing a folder with a windows laptop?

Hi,

I have Ubuntu 8.04 on my PC, and IVe just received a Samsung NC10 netbbook with Win XP. How can I share folders on Ubuntu so that I can browse and copy from them on XP?

samba. search ubuntuforums.org theres a massive guide on there as to how to setup samba and XP to share.

I'll digout the link tommorrow night if you get stuck finding it.

You might as well first try right clicking the directories in Nautilus and selecting "Sharing Options."

Thanks, I had a look on Ubuntu forums. Had a little succes. I didnt manage to see Ubuntu shared folders from my winxp netbook like I wanted, but could see winxp shared folders from ubuntu pc, so I copied the files across sat at my desktop. End result the same, just not the way I initially wanted to do it.
