sharing a hard drive in vista

nigel, having exactly the same problem
been through every option, set as many permissions as i can find, still no luck :(
 
I haven't used Vista for w while, as went back XP.

But when I tried to access the shared drive on the Vista machine using the XP machine it would not have it at all, and I fixed the problem by setting up a user account on the Vista Machine with the same user details as the acccount I was using on the XP machine tring to access it.

This fixed the problem immediately for me (this was pre-SP1 btw)
