How do I go about doing this? I've managed to access a CDROM drive on my main PC from my laptop and install a game. But the game then requires the CD to play the game and its obviously only looking on the CDROM drive on the laptop.

Is there a way that I can make the CDROM drives from my main PC appear in my computer on my laptop? If so, how?

Well i've just managed to create a mapped network drive so it now appears in my computer, but the same problem still persists. The game is looking at the CDROm drives on the laptop for the cd rather than on the mapped drive :(

Um try backing up saves and a quick reinstall. As for your network sharing you'd be better of using Nero to either copy the disc or make an image and mount it on the other machine.

yep as above make an image of the disk and mount in on the laptop!

depending on the game you may also have to run some additional software to hide the fact its a virtual cd drive

you should not need to do a reinstall it depends on the game some look for any cd drives but i have had games that look for it on a specific drive letter, but thats not hard to get around.

Im sure you could fake a CD rom drive to one that is on another computer via a network (I would have no idea how to do this)... Problem is it would be accessing it consistently and be unplayable, best is to use Nero, or Daemon tools or some other imaging software.
