Hello,

I am trying to set up a few folders that I can share but are coming across dificulties.

I want to share a folder from my netbook to my desktop. I right click the file and give it a share name.

I go to Netowrks on my desktop and see the netbook and the older being shared and can access it.

As the netbook and desktop ahve the same log on usernames but entirely different passwords, surely the desktop should be refused access to the shared folder I just set up? or at least be access for credentials to gain access?

Why is the desktop just being let in?

I want to share a couple of folders for my use but want to restrict access to them from everyone else who might be able to see them from over the network.

Help would be most appreciated.

For some reason, I ahve now just tried to access the shared folder from my desktop and it's asking for credentials. I ahve tried a whole variety of different user and passwords but none will let me in.

What is it looking for?

I'm really really confused.
