Sharing files between 2 vista machines

I've got a laptop and a pc connected via ethernet and i want to transfer files from one to the other. Both can see each other but i can't access the users folder at all. I've tried sharing it and i can get into it but i can't access my files. Can someone please tell me how to do it, i've never done it with vista machines before, only xp ones

just run it and choose the files or directories you want to share. Go to the Internet browser on the other machine and put the ip address in and copy them across. it is so easy and it always works. I have had grief with machines not wanting to talk to each other for years and unless it works easy and its just a few files I just install this. Its totally free too.

Click start, control panel, network and internet, enable file sharing

Click start, network, pc name, there you go

Done

Thanks guys, i'll try that next time. I managed to get round it by putting all the files i wanted to transfer into one of the public folders. Worked like a dream.
