Hi there, i have fuinally got my 2 pcs setup and working, they are both connected to eah other through ethernet on the onboard network cards. The problem is i have one cable with the internet which is plugged into the top pc but i cannot seem to share the connection with my other pc, i have tried running the home office network but all i get is it cannot complete the wizard.

I have also tried bridging the connections so that it would share the internet but that doesnt work either.

Anyone with some ideas or knowledge PLEASE HELP

so you have it like this:

WWW-----PC1-----PC2

yes/no?

If yes then what you want to do is on PC1 right click on My Network Places, select properties, then right click on the internet connection and select properties, then click on the sharing tab at the top.

Click Enable Internet Connection sharing.

This should then set the IP address of the second network card to 192.168.0.1, now on PC2 set the IP address to "dynamically allocated over DHCP" and then see if you can get on the net.

If not check the IP that has now been set on PC2 is 192.168.0.X (where X can be 2 - 254), if it's right then try pinging 192.168.0.1 and see if you get a response.

If the Ip on PC2 is not right, then set it manually to 192.168.0.2 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and default gateway and DNS of 192.168.0.1.

This should now get you on the t'internet.
