Is it possible to connect my laptop to my desktop so my desktop can access the internet through the laptop. When i connect them using a network cable at the moment i can just share files. Is there some settings i can change to share internet? Both are on vista 64bit, laptop on ultimate and desktop on premium. Laptop has a fairly strong wireless signal.

i have one but the wireless card in my desktop isnt working too well and until i either buy a better router/card or put in a network cable wanted a temp solution.

If the laptop's connected to the router, you don't even need to use ICS. Just bridge the two interfaces and off you go.

Yes the laptop is connected wirelessly to the router. Sorry bt what do you mean by bridge the interfaces? Ive just plugged a cat 5 patch cable between the laptop and the desktop and all i get is a local connection on the desktop and no internet. Tried enabling ICS but there is no sharing tab when im in properties for LAN only Wireless. Confused!!
