Hi all.

Just got my new rMBP loving it so far. However I am trying to setup a 'sync' between my server and the mac

I'm basically setting the server to copy stuff to my mac every so often if there are new files on the server (for example if I download a song on the server it is automatically copied across to the mac)

I have setup the shared under system preferences > Sharing and setup the correct permissions for users etc

However once the mac has disconnected from the network it seems to think I am using an incorrect username and password (which im not as I have entered it about 5 times) and I have to delete and re add the shares on the mac for it to allow me to access it.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Cheers

Sorry if I wasn't clear in the op but I'm actually trying to access mac shares from the windows server not the other way round.

I'm still have the problem of it refusing to let me in even when I am using the correct password :/

Hi, thanks for that. the reason I'm trying to push them to the mac is that I use a central sync software (goodsync) to sync files between my clients and the server.

I am not using a domain so i would be using a workgroup then I assume.

I am not accessing the mac by its IP (although that is assigned by DHCP except when plugged in.) but by its name

accessing using <nameofmac\ipaddress>\username or username@<nameofmac\ipaddress>

doesn't seem to make any difference.

Trying to access the shares in windows it prompts you for a username and password and even when I enter the correct ones it says that it is invalid.

Thanks
