Sorry this must have been asked a million times, but my problem is a little different, i think.

My PS3 arived today and im dead impressed with it compared to my 360.

I have connected the PS to the network, and it is registering my Vaio perfectly. However, i have enabled media sharing in WMP 11, and it works fine with my 360. But the PS3 isnt picking up any folders at all.

I recovered my laptop a few days ago (and i have a library in WMP11) but dont seem to have any shared folders other than that of msn sharing folders. Perhaps I chose not to create them on the recovery? (Vista home premium)

Im sure somebody must have had this issue so any light that could be shed would be great!

Thats strange. I set up my media streaming with the PS3 the same exact way I did it with the 360. Maybe your router is blocking? Sorry I couldn't be anymore help.

You dont have to setup any folders for sharing. It should be as simple as making sure mediaplayer knows where all your vids and music are and then making sure mediaplayer knows the ps3 is safe to share with.

By default, the ps3 will appearas an unknown device in the share options. you simply have to set allow. Im guessing mediashare is also enabled if the xbox is working fine.

Just press X. (I spink, haven't done it for ages)

You have to be under the correct menu. You can't see your music if you're looking under videos.
