As the "Post your Pictures Thread" has now been locked I thought I'd start this thread to share the shots I've taken.

Please bear in mind I'm still a relative newcomer to photography when compared to some of the other photographers posting here but I'm quite willing to take any constructive critiscm / comments on the chin and try to learn from them. And with that here's my latest shots:

These two shots were taken under the Clackmananshire / Upper Forth Crossing Bridge over the River Forth in Fife. I quite like the first shot personally but I'm unsure on the light trails on the second shot. I've also considered turning both of the above into B&W and playing about with the sliders in LR to see what I can do?

Really like the first one, the curve under the bridge is very eye-catching.

Tyvm

Not too sure on the second, nothing really grabs me. It might look better in black and white though - I didn't even notice the light trail at first glance!

Like I said I wasn't too sure on the light trial as I feel once seen it detracts from my intended shot. :(

The wonky horizon on the second is very distracting.

The wonky horizon is now sorted - n00b error which wont happen again :o

I'm guessing in the first shot you can't get into a position to not have the barriers and concrete block in the foreground as I think without them it would be an even stronger shot.

Exactly correct unfortunately - there was a barrier in the way obstructing me from getting any closer under the bridge. I'm still much happier with the B&W images compared to the colour though :D

Also - stepping out of my usual comfort zone here and made an attempt at a couple of portrait shots of my niece I took on Christmas day:

Couple of more shots of my niece I took over the weekend - quickly discovered you've got to be bloody fast to photograph kids:

Bed time stories with granny:

And to brighten up from all those B&W's here's a landscape I shot late last year and had published in this months "Photography for Beginners" magazine:

As always any comments or constructive critiscm is appreciated :)

Thought I'd share a small set from a few recent photo excursions - hope you like?

Please feel free to leave any comments or critiscm - thanks :)

Some nice photos. I'm sure the more proficient photographers here will offer some advice.

I'm still fairly new to photography but I'm finding it a fascinating journey. Keep going :)

Thank you very much for your input, it's really appreciated. I'm also fairly new to photography having only really picked up a camera within the last 12/18 months or so. However in that time I've had my shots published in magazines (photography for beginners) and in calendars (a local FB project sold for charity) and while I don't consider myself anywhere near as professional as some of the other people posting here I still like to share my shots and listen to any constructive critiscm that comes along.

And with that here's my latest offering - hope you like:

Just had a look through your photos and I have to ask, are the night shots actually sharp or is it some sort of image compression making them look soft? Could be something that can be changed in how you set up the shots, such as a cable release etc.

Hi there

Thanks for the feedback - I do have a cable release and a remote but I haven't actually used them yet :o

Perhaps it's just my untrained eye or my processing skills but they don't look overly sharp do they?
