Hi all,

I have an wifi connection setup next door i.e cable modem connected to a router which is working fine. I have extended a ethernet cable from the router next door to this house giving me a single internet connection with an ip of 192.168.103. i am wanting to attach more devices to this single connection via wifi but need some advice on if its possible and if so how. The wifi signal at this house from next door is too weak to be usable. I guess what i am asking is, is it possible to share a single ip address obtained from a router with multiple devices at the same time?

Regards.

Rok.

Ignoring the issues with Virgin’s T&Cs for the moment…

If you connect a wireless access point to the end of the cable it’ll just pick up multiple IPs as necessary from the main router.

If you really do only have a single IP to play with then you could connect another cable router configured to use a different subnet.

If the networks for the two houses need to be kept separate then you’d need something more elegant.
