How quiet are these fans?

I need a quiet fan to go on my Scythe Ninja Plus Rev B. The fan that comes with it is a bit noisy..I have also tried an Antec tri cool fan on there which is also noisy...would putting the 2000 Sharkoon on it be any quieter or will a 1000 Sharkoon do a good of a job as the Scythe & Antec fans mentioned.

These are sitting in our warehouse now waiting to be booked in today. Unfortunately we had a delay due to pricing issues but these have now been resolved and as a result will be available to order today.

Thank you Slackworth you have made my day - Get them on I want to update my basket! :)

Sorry for hounding you to get these - I take it all back :p

Well, a 2000rpm 120mm fan is going to be louder than ~1200rpm 120mm fan that comes with the Ninja, not matter what the blade design.

I too have the Ninja Plus rev B, and whilst the fan is fairly quiet at full speed, it's inaudible at the ~860rpm I run it at. Temps only differ by a couple of degrees too. Have you considered controlling the fan speed instead of spending money on a new fan?

the sharkoons, when undervolted, are amongst the most punch fans around, and still have the power to pick the pace up when you want a bit more air throughput.

i have 6 on a fan controler..... best of both worlds!

W00t!

In the basket - come on pay day!!! Extremesystems rated these as in the top 3 fans to buy (dependant on need) and they are bloody marvellous. Even at 5V these really move the air!

Well done OCUK - have a cookie :)

Couldn't control myself and ordered 4, along with a Zalman fan controller.

Do I get a discount as a finders fee??

What are you using to control them with m8?

I don't see the point in spending more money on a fan controller to get them to run quieter when surely you can find a quieter fan for a lot less money. If I could control it without purchasing a fan controller then yes I would do it that way.

sharkoon do a 1000 RPM variant, just it's nice to have your cake and eat it on the aiflow vs silence front!

I know I already have 2 1000 fans in my LianLiv2100+2

1 @ the back & 1 @ the front.

I am thinking of connecting 1 to the blower that goes over the graphics card & 1 to replace the stock fan from my ninja. I won't be overclocking so hopefully there will be enough airflow in the case..and silence is all I am bothered about. With the 2 sharkoons on by themselves the case is very silent but with the Scythe or Antec fan it can be annoyingly loud.

You can get a controller for a tenner, hardly a lot of money.

I have some Globe fans that really push at 12V without being overly noisy, but also undervolt very smoothly, making the inaudible at 5v in my P180 :)
