Are they any good? why are they so popular? High airflow/silent?

The 1000rpm ones are about on a par with Nexus/Yate Loon fans, though I found mine to have a slightly noiser motor.

2000rpm ones undervolt nicely, and move a good amount of air at higher speeds.

Got 6 in my case.

I have just bought 4x120mm silent Eagles and 2x80mm silent Eagles for a build . I will let you know later in the week as they are just sitting in the box at the moment .
