Hello,

Does anyone use one of these? Mate of mine has a USB which he rates highly, but I'd prefer to use eSATA for obvious reasons.

Does anyone know if turning it off affects boot times? I've had eSATA drives before that hang system boot as it would with an internal drive not connected to power. Don't want it turned on all the time, or have to keep disconnecting it if I don't want to use it so would be good to know before I hit the buy button.

Cheers

when Quickport is off, also HDD is off. There could be some delay during boot procedures, but this is normally minimal. Reason is, the eSATA chip detects a cable and check. But normally nothing hangs during boot.
Also you can set a fixed boot device in Bios than there are also no problems.
