I noticed this TV last night when browsing at a high street shop priced at 1K with possiblity of a 5yr warranty with price match.

Would it be a good buy for someone not intersetd in 3D or is it old tech?

Seems a bargain for a 60" TV.

Been looking at that thread for the past couple of days but cant seem to find any other reviews on this tv or Sharp ones in general.

Very tempted by this tv, might go back and take a closer look at it now that the store has dropped the price to 1k inc the 5yr warranty.

How do Sharp tv's compare to the likes of Samsung, Panasonic, LG etc?

great tv, but i think it suffers from backlight problems in dark scenes.... but how bad i dont know, you might not notice it
