Anyone on here used one of these online shave clubs? If so, which one and would you rate them? Iv been looking at them, iv been looking at the Dollar shave club and Harry's. Iv have always had Gillete Razors but have always hated buying the blades.

Dont gillette just make womens razors now anyway?

I've looked at Harry's this week after the feeling of being done over after buying some Gillette blades. They worked out more expensive n a per blade basis

Been using Harrys since the turn of the year, i've been v impressed to be honest (used to use Gillette mach 6000 or whatever it is now). Gives me a nice smooth shave and doesnt leave me with as rash as often. Price seems good too.

I liked Harry’s, but their minimum order didn’t work for me as blades started building up rapidly as I only shave 2-3 times a week.

+1 for double edged/safety razor. Spent about 2 months experimenting with blade brands last summer, settled on a choice and loving it. Cheaper but also better for the environment too :)

I've been through a lot of different DE and straight, etc. options but nothing has ever come close to giving me the same quality and comfort in a shave in the normal amount of time I'd allocate to it compared to a Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5.

Sure if I take my time I can get a superior (but not fundamentally so) shave with a good DE, etc. (I'm reasonably proficient) but unless you are strapped for cash or really enjoy taking the time to do it proper it is a false economy IMO.

Even before the latest drama I've always considered Gillette razors trash for a good shave.

Same here, I'm with Rroff, don't buy into the DE blade hype that this forum has an almost cultist love for.
Its actually "reasonably" skilful to get a decent shave without cutting yourself, razor burning yourself etc.
Honestly, if you have got the time to train yourself to do it then spend the money on a decent starter kit and give it a go for a month.

I grew up with my dad using DE so it was my first shaving kit, i had another go at it in my late 20s.
I am not a huge shaver. ( lol that sounds so weird) I have a lovely Nordic style bears beard now, which i trim with electric klippers and a mach3 (man hater) razor ive had for 15 years.... a 20 pack of cartridges lasts me 2 years......

Try the DE blades.. see how you go.

DE razors are cheap as chips and really not hard to learn how to use provided you take some care with it. I've been using one for the last 3 years and spent an absolute fraction of what you would on 5 bladed disposables. What I would say is though they are much harsher on your skin, so not ideal if you have sensitive skin. Even with a good shave soap and prep they can still cause razor burn when going against the grain.
