Erm, ive been shaving for ages now, but i have always wondered when ever i see people doing it on TV they always do it different to me. I am refering to the bit from the neck upto the jaw line. They always seem to go up from the neck to the jaw. Now i always thought that you were not supposed to go against the way the hair grows (against the grain). Now my hair on my neck to the jaw grows downwards (jaw to neck). Now i getting myself confused!? :D So today i went the other way, neck to jaw and got a closer shave but got massive shaving rash.

What is the correct way!?

Thanks

If you're not getting a close enough shave, use a flanel soaked in really hot water on your face for 30s or so - then use your shaving gel/oil/mousse/soap shave and use a cold flanel - it'll make your shave that little bit closer.

I think thats they way to go. I also find that if i shave before i shower, i get less spots.
